Highlights of The Southwest Tour:
A fantastic week
awaits us, as we leave
the big city behind and ride toward
Prescott National Forest. Mountain switchbacks,
old mining towns, Indian cliff dwellings and
reservations, ghost
towns, Oak Creek Canyon,
Salt River Canyon, the Coronado Trail - this
tour
has all the rugged excitement you could hope for.
There's Tombstone, "The Town Too Tough to Die",
and Chiricahua National Monument, the site
of Cochise's hiding
place. You'll ride around
the largest open pit mine in the world,
and through Saguaro National Park.
Visit old Tucson before returning to Phoenix
and the end of this incredible
one-week
ride
through the magnificent American Southwest.

Saturday
Arrival in Phoenix, AZ
The riders
will get together in the evening with our Ride America tour guide to
discuss the exciting week ahead.
Day
1 Sunday Phoenix to Sedona - 183 miles
We begin
our great journey this morning, riding
out of Phoenix to the northwest. From Wickenburg we head into Prescott National Forest and Prescott.
This afternoon, a
challenging ride across Mingus Mountain to the hillside mining town
of Jerome, then a visit to Tuzigoot National
Monument and on into the red rocks splendor of Sedona.
Day
2 Monday Sedona to Payson - 180 miles
This
morning we visit Montezuma Castle National Monument, then enjoy a
leisurely ride up breathtaking Oak Creek Canyon, listed as one of the
"ten best rides in the USA", to Flagstaff. Turning
south through Coconino National Forest we cruise around Mormon Lake,
through Happy Jack, Strawberry and Pine, and on into Payson.
Day
3 Tuesday Payson to Hon-Dah - 201 miles
We ride
south through Tonto National Forest, pass beside Theodore Roosevelt
Lake and Dam, then visit Tonto National Monument.
At Globe we turn back
north into the Fort Apache Indian Reservation and ride down through
spectacular Salt River Canyon. After a visit to Fort Apache we ride to
our hotel/casino on the reservation at Hon-Dah.
Day
4 Wednesday Pinetop to Safford - 198 miles
We pass
through Show Low this morning, then turn east towards Alpine and one of the best
rides in the country - the famous Coronado Trail through the Apache
National Forest. Ninety miles of curves and breathtaking scenery
later, we arrive at the mining towns of Morenci and Clifton, then on
into Safford for a well-deserved rest.
Day
5 Thursday Safford to Bisbee - 154 miles
This
morning we ride south to Willcox and the Rex Allen Museum. We'll turn
toward the Dos Cabezas Mountains and ride up to spectacular Chiricahua
National Monument. South we head to Douglas on the Mexican
border, then into the once famous copper-mining town of Bisbee.
Day
6 Friday Bisbee to Tucson - 177 miles
Were
off this morning to Tombstone "The Town Too Tough To
Die". After spending time here reliving the wild west, we'll turn
west beside the Coronado National Forest to Sonoita, then north to
Vail and Saguaro National Monument before arriving in Tucson.
Day
7 Saturday Tucson to Phoenix - 134 miles
All good
things and great rides must come to an end, so this morning we
pack up and head north back to Phoenix. If you are flying out,
plan your flight departure for after 2:00pm.

America may from time to time make changes to this
tour itinerary, as circumstances require.
