The Carolinas Tour

Highlights of The Carolinas Tour:

We'll ride through the beautiful lowlands of
North Carolina, then visit Kitty Hawk and the
Wright Brothers National Monument.
Back roads cruising takes us to Pinehurst
and around the Uwharrie National Forest.
We'll see the North Carolina Motor Speedway
and experience the charms of Charleston.
After a peaceful day's ride in the lake district near
Francis Marion National Forest, we'll return to Myrtle
Beach along the Grand Strand of the Atlantic,
and the end of our great one-week ride
through the magnificent Carolinas.

Saturday – Arrival in Myrtle Beach, SC

The riders will get together in the evening with our Ride America tour guide to discuss the exciting week ahead.

Day 1 – Sunday - Myrtle Beach to Greenville, NC - 223 miles

We ride north out of Myrtle Beach this morning toward Wilmington and the USS North Carolina Battleship Memorial.  Cruise along the coast to Morehead City then turn north through the Croatan National Forest to Greenville.

Day 2 – Monday – Circle ride to Cape Hatteras - 295 miles

A long but easy ride today, east via Washington to the Atlantic and Nags Head.  After a special visit to the Wright Brothers National Memorial at Kill Devil Hills, we'll head back west to Greenville via Williamston.

Day 3 – Tuesday – Greenville to Pinehurst, NC - 198 miles

Pack up and head out this morning toward Kinston and the Gov. Caswell Memorial.  We zigzag through small towns and back country in eastern and southern North Carolina today, working our way to beautiful Southern Pines and Pinehurst.

Day 4 – Wednesday – Circle ride to Asheboro - 193 miles

Take the day off and play your dream round of golf at one of the many courses in this area, or cruise with us through the Uwharrie National Forest to Asheboro.  A high point of this day is our ride by North Carolina Motor Speedway at Rockingham on our way back to Pinehurst.

Day 5 – Thursday – Pinehurst to N. Charleston, SC - 212 miles

We head out toward South Carolina this morning, riding great back roads through many of the delightful small towns of the south.  We'll cruise through Francis Marion National Forest on our way to North Charleston.

Day 6 – Friday – Circle ride to Orangeburg - 187 miles

You can sightsee magnificent Charleston today, or join us on an easy quiet roads circle ride to Orangeburg and back.  Or we have a shorter route for you if you'd like to get back earlier and enjoy Charleston or visit Middleton Place Gardens.

Day 7 – Saturday – N. Charleston to Myrtle Beach - 101 miles

Load up and ride north this morning, past the Cape Romain Wildlife Refuge and Georgetown, back to Myrtle Beach.  If you are flying out, plan your flight departure for after 2:00pm.
